    Source: Survey Department of Ghana
    Feature Type: Raster

    File type: Grid

    Abstract:

Survey Department of Ghana is the mandated institution for all mapping related activities in the country. This dataset was prepared as part of the department's mandate to provide other relevant state institutions base data for analyses. The DEM has a resolution of 30m and a contour interval of 60m was used to generate the DEM. The main source of this dataset dates back to the 1970s when extensive photogrammetry works were undertaken by experts.

    Purpose:

The purpose of the DEM is to give an indication of the elevation and topography of the terrain of the entire country. The DEM gives a much clearer understanding of the height values for the various high and low lying areas for easier planning and other development related purposes.
